Set within the rolling Cotswolds, this family home sits in quiet harmony with its surroundings. Meticulously designed by YAM Studios, the interiors draw inspiration from both the landscape and Studio Bark’s architecture, reflecting the building’s material honesty and understated presence. Warm, natural materials create a seamless connection between inside and out, while adding comfort and softness for everyday family life.
A muted palette of natural tones and textures echoes the raw landscape. Clay plaster on walls and ceilings provides a continuous, breathable surface, lending tactility, serenity, and wellbeing. In the bathrooms, Tadelakt continues this theme, emphasizing natural, ecological materials.
Designed for a busy family, the interiors balance refinement and resilience. Durable, low-maintenance materials, many Cradle to Cradle certified allow the home to be fully lived in without compromising environmental responsibility or the integrity of natural finishes.
Living and dining spaces frame views of the countryside, with large windows and discreet integrated blinds preserving vistas while ensuring privacy. Sheer voile curtains soften the architecture, creating intimacy as daylight fades.
Custom joinery designed by YAM Studios, including the kitchen, defines the home’s design language. Quarter-cut and rift-cut oak introduces warmth and texture, while discreetly integrated air conditioning maintains comfort without disrupting aesthetics. Upholstered bedroom headboards, seating, and movie room walls add softness, proportion, and inviting comfort.
At the center, the staircase, developed in collaboration with Studio Bark and Tim Gaudin, serves as both a practical and sculptural feature, harmonizing with the material palette and architectural intent.
Throughout, quiet luxury emerges from high-quality materials and finely crafted joinery. Resisting trends, the design reflects the clients’ calm sensibility, creating timeless, breathable interiors where understated elegance meets everyday ease.
