George Street is a contemporary apartment in Marylebone, London, purchased by an American family of five as their London home away from home. Having previously lived in the city, the clients wanted a welcoming base where they could spend more time with family and friends while enjoying everything London has to offer.

Located within a newly completed residential development, the apartment already benefited from generous proportions and a well-planned layout. While the developer's specification provided a strong architectural foundation, the interiors lacked warmth, personality, and the sense of refinement the clients were looking for.

YAM Studios was commissioned to transform the apartment into a calm, contemporary home that balanced understated luxury with relaxed everyday living. The brief centered around creating interiors that felt warm, sophisticated, and effortlessly liveable, combining a restrained material palette with natural textures, carefully curated furnishings, and bespoke detailing to give the apartment its own identity.

To make better use of the space, bespoke joinery was introduced within the living area and hallway, providing integrated storage while strengthening the architectural language of the interiors. A complete redecoration introduced warmer tones throughout the apartment, softening the original white walls and adding depth, texture, and atmosphere.

Furniture, decorative lighting, artwork, and accessories were carefully curated to reflect the family's personality while creating comfortable spaces for both entertaining and everyday living. Layered textures, natural materials, and thoughtful styling transformed the previously generic interiors into a home that feels welcoming, refined, and deeply personal.
